Coaching is a serious part of any sport. In most cases it is a very hard job. It can
be made easier by knowing rules, strengths and weaknesses, capabilities, and how to treat
people. Coaches have to know how to get the best out of their athletes to be successful.
Proper training and work ethics are very important. Without any of this, it is very easy to
waste talent. My motivation for coaching is to get athletes to perform at their greatest
potential. I've learned that the training processes of most coaches really hurt or hinder
athletes more than they help them. I want to correct these problems with proper
techniques that I have learned and will learn.
I have played sports all my life and have had many different coaches. None of
their styles were alike. This is ok, but most of the styles are not really designed around
the athletes that they have. If I get new players, and they are weaker in areas that my past
players were strong in, then I would change my style to help them be more effective.
I'm not even half way through my life and I've seen a lot of talent just washed down the
drain. Just because coaches use the same style every year. Not to say that their style
doesn't work, but it could work better if it was tuned to the athletes in the program at the
My number one reason for wanting to coach is just an overall love for sport. That
is what gives me the drive and desire. I love to see an athlete succeed after hours upon
hours of training. To see young athletes develop into players of the future. I'm not going
to deny that fame and recognition isn't part of it, but for the most part its just a love for a
