violence

Violence is the biggest problem kids, teenagers, and adults have in our society today. Everyday there is usually a headline story or article about a shooting, or killing.
On February 5th 2001, I woke up, went down stairs and started to read the newspaper. I suddenly stopped, when I read the headline " 11 year old slain on 1st outing in Springfield." I then read the article and couldn't believe what America was coming to. An eleven-year-old boy stabbed another boy his age in a movie theater. I asked myself, "Why did this happen and what can we do to prevent it from happening again? " I thought about this question for a while and decided to write down all my thoughts and ideas of what we can do to stop violence.
After all my thinking and writing, I realized that violence in children comes from living in violent homes, watching violent movies, and experiencing violence in school. Parents cannot raise their children in a home, with no discipline and expect them to not get in trouble with violence.
Movies is another big problem teenagers have with violence. Many kids or teenagers feel as though if they watch a violent movie, they have to act upon that. We have to think of solution to prevent teenagers, children, and even adults acting like that. Which means, less violent movies, and more non-violent movies. It also means less violence at homes, and in school. This change in teachings could make a big impact in our society for the better.
