The ways of parenting are changing dramatically. Everybody has heard a story told by there mom or dad about how tough their childhood's where like, "I had to walk to school, barefooted, uphill both ways, through 4 feet of snow." Or how bout the story's of what happened to them when they where bad (I'm sure everyone can think of one of those for themselves). Nevertheless, we all know that our parents did have it tougher; they had tougher rules, less privileges, but most of all better manners and discipline. This is something that seems to be slowly but surely fading from the household. Stricter rules and punishment should be enforced. I'm not saying that parents should beat their kids, but spanking them now and then wouldn't hurt. Its ridiculous what can be considered as child abuse these days. And I'm sorry to be breaking this to those parents who use it, but the whole "timeout" thing doesn't seem to be working. Its never too late to change the ways of parenting. Otherwise, who knows where parenting is headed?
             Whether or not someone believes in God, having religion a part of ones life, in this case a child's, is a very good thing. If a person can somehow teach all the lessons religion has to offer then I commend you, but if your like anyone else then religion has much to offer you. First, foremost, and really the only thing I will say about religion is that it teaches, on top of everything else, good morals. So not to be confused, an example of a good moral is to, "love thy neighbor."
             When this is said it does not mean only the person that lives next to you, but everyone. A catch phrase used all over the world that I feel has been strung off of, "love thy neighbor," is, " treat others as you would like to be treated." Now other examples of lessons based off of religion are not to kill, not to fornicate, and just any other basic, simple things ...
