In the Call of the Wild by Jack London, this book tells a story of an American husky. The
American husky goes by the name of Buck, as he begins a long journey across the arctic. I am
going to tell you about the characters, about the setting, and I am going to tell you about Buck's
long journey's.
To begin with, I will introduce you to the characters in the book. The main character in
the Call of the Wild, is Buck the American husky. There is also Spitz, another mean husky, and
the man in the red sweater. There is also Curly, Billee, Joe, and Sol-leks more dogs Buck is
friends with along the journey's but are less important.
Next I will explain the setting of the book. The setting is all across Alaska, down past the
Sierra Morena Mountains. The setting is also mostly in the dead of winter, where the ice is frozen
thick so that you can cross over rivers and lakes without breaking through the ice.
Last but not least, I'll tell you about the journey's Buck's went through with his mates.
Buck starts off being a house dog in Puget Sound, San Diego, but then when all seems well his
master takes him on a long walk during the night and meets a man that he sells Buck to for a very
fine price. Buck does not take kindly to being traded to some stranger for a very fine price, but is
soon broken in by the man in the red sweater with the club. After being trained by the man in the
red sweater Buck gets shipped off to two men so they can start their own journey across Alaska
to find gold. Buck and some of his mates get stronger and stronger and grow better relationships
with each other except for Spitz, the leader. Spitz challenges Buck in a fight where it's kill or be
killed, but Buck kills Spitz and takes his position as being the team leader. After being leader of
the sled Buck and his mates get traded to some untrained people who know nothing of the
wilderness. Their goal is to reach fortu...
