George Orwell wrote his book 1984, which portrayed his thoughts of the future to come. Orwell began writing his book at the end of the World War when so many wanted to take over the world. In his book he writes about the "perfect society" under Big Brother. Big Brother is the supposed leader of the totalitarian government. The government consists of four distinct ministries: The Ministry of Love, The Ministry of Truth, The Ministry of Peace and The Ministry of Plenty. Each Ministry has its own purpose in keeping up with the three slogans of the Party. The three slogans being War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength. ever come to be but he does believe that something of its kind would come about. The very thought of a world presented in 1984 ever existing gives one a total shiver up their spine. To think that there life could be watched and monitored every day of the week, month and year. In 1984 a Telescreen monitors Winston and every other resident of the society. The Telescreen is found where ever you go whether out in public or in your home. There is not any privacy in this world.
The ministries were the main structures of the society. All run by the party and Big Brother who Winston was not sure really existed. Winston did not trust the Party. He was against Big Brother but did not show it. He felt that there was something very wrong about the way the society was run.
