When I think of underage drinking the first thing that really comes to my mind are teenagers. Some people think it is a bad idea to let teenagers drink when they are 18 or 19; I was one of those people who thought that. But when I looked at the other side of the issue I saw some good points. I saw how European teenagers can handle alcohol consumption like responsible adults. I was kind of one sided about this issue until I experienced the other side for myself. When I write this essay I will focus on the other side of the issue, how it would be a good thing to let American teenagers consume alcohol, how America would deal with it, and what the long term affects would be on the future generations.
             When I wrote my last essay about how underage drinking wasn't right for America, I talked about mostly the affects that drinking would have on our youth. All I really focused on was the negatives of underage drinking. I never really looked at what were the positives of underage drinking. When I went to Canada a little over two weeks ago I saw how teenagers drink responsible. I went to a dance club with a bar in it, all the adults there were treating teenagers like they were adults. Everyone in the club was at least my age; I saw first hand how another country acts when teenagers drink.
             If you let teenagers from America consume alcohol before the age of 21 you let them take responsibility in their own hands. You give them the freedom of being an adult. I'm sure there would be some teenagers that would act irresponsible, but if you look at adults that are over 21 handle alcohol there are always some that act irresponsible when they drink. Drinking for teenagers is the forbidden fruit of everything that they know. Since they can't drink teenagers want to do it more.
