             Realizing and understanding differences in people is the key to positive and effective ways to fight racism. During my trip to the Museum of Tolerance, I learned that hate is a very big issue in our society. We often forget that our feelings could be hateful and disrespectful to others. Hate projected at anyone because of thier race or religion should not be tolerated becaus very serious problems can occur.
             One example of an extreme case of racism, are the beliefs of the dictator Adolf Hitler. Hitler believed that Jewish people were the cause of many problems in the world. Hitler promoted hate toward the Jews by speaking out against them, and publishing anti Jewish literature. Thousands of people heard his speeches and many of them were influenced by his beliefs. During a time of depression, many people looked for a solution to thier problems. They hoped to find it by trusting in Hitler. As Hitler's popularity grew, He began to spread his racist beliefs to those who trusted him. Hitler hatefully lashed out against the Jewish people. He started to murder many innocent Jewish people. Millions of men, women, and children were executed by Hitler's army. This all started by a single man who spoke to many people who followed the advice of the Nazi Party. This is similar to the 1984 novel because the threat of a political party is sometimes dangerous. Hitler and his Nazi Party did not understand other people's diffrencess. Hitler therefor could not tolerate the differences he found in other people
             whom he blamed for his problems. Therefor understanding and tolerating the differences in people is very important otherwise devastating results may occur.
