Ku klux Klan

             As the Civil War ended, the South was torn. Slavery was gone, and in the minds of most white southerners, the order was also gone. They began to see the other race inferior and intimidating. There was also a wave of grief evoked by the loss of the war. The people in the South had suffered enormously from what the Civil War had done to them. Many of those people had lost all of their plantations and homes. A lot of them lost loved ones and friends in the war. The people needed to have something that will give them a release from the agony of everyday life. In early reconstruction, six lads from a little town in Tennessee accidentally started what has became the biggest and most dreaded hate group in the United States. The men decided to make their own club, in order to release all of their stress that has been building up from the down times. The lads were very poor so they couldn't afford to make scary costumes or any gowns for their group. They concluded to use some cheap linens.They weren't the only ones to dress themselves up, they also put linens on their horses. Now they were a complete package. This was the first time that the Ku Klux Klan was going to ride. They did not know what they were in for. At first, the Klan wanted to go around and play evil pranks on people or just try to cheer them up. As opposed to their intention, the people were terrified of this senseless goofiness. After a while they came up with new ideas on how they could use this to their advantage. They concluded that this would be the best
             thing for spreading fear. They felt as if the South was being taken away from them and were more than willing to defend it no matter what. For them, new times had come. The slaves were no longer slaves, they were free. Since the men used to own slaves, they could not see any blacks ruling them.(The Klan's victims, white as often as black in those days, included anyone, anything, the Klan didn't like...
