Hammurabi was the one who governed Babylon and was responsible for
establishing the greatness and grandeur of Babylon. The same was the
world's first chief city. Many remnants of Hammurabi's regime, which
usually lasted from 1795-1750 BC have usually been conserved, and in the
present times we can have a detailed study on this powerful King of his
time. He undoubtedly was a wise man who lived up to his words in providing
law to one and all. His code of laws is very famous, as he was the one
amongst the first known rulers to share his rules with the general masses.
This code laid down the foundation for building an organized society within
