             As customer service manager for a home building manufacturer, I am
             confronted with a unique set of challenges. Not only am I required to
             demonstrate exceptional interpersonal communication skills, I also have to
             be intimately familiar with our product line and inventory so that I can
             efficiently serve our customers. One of the biggest boons to our business
             has been the sets of software that we use to catalog inventory and conduct
             sales transactions. In addition to these basic functions of company
             software, which is custom designed, computers help managers deal with
             massive personnel records and other accounting data. However, the company
             has not upgraded the hardware or software systems in over two years. As a
             result, my job has more difficult because our computers simply cannot keep
             up with detailed and daily changes to inventory. Therefore, I strongly
             recommend upgrading our computers to keep up with the changing needs of our

             realized that we need to adapt a highly sophisticated database that keeps
             track of each transaction. This way, as soon as a customer requests and

             choose to purchase items from us instead of one of our customers.
             Improving the computer systems would also make the in-store shopping
             experience better for our customers. With better software, we can link cash
             registers to inventory databases, and create lists of items that can be
             automatically re-ordered. I also feel that we could benefit from better
             networking with our other stores, as customers frequently ask if a certain
             item is on the shelves in another store.
