Ethics are a development of the standards and guides that a society
expects members to uphold. Ethics are developed as individuals in society
reflect on intentions and outcomes of their actions. Ethics are based on
factors associated with morals, values and beliefs yet, are not wholly the
same as these other three factors. One can hold a standard they consider
an ethic, based upon many factors and still disregard it in a time of need,
yet the standard remains the same. Ethics can surround all of society or
can be based upon the ethical standards of a particular group, such as a

spiritual or societal standards but of course can be secular and can be

things that are important to them and to their society.

consequences and also the development of morals, values and beliefs, or of

person's ethics is influenced by many factors. They can be an outgrowth
of observations or standards upheld within their family and or peer group
or they can be guided by educational and or employment standards and
practices. The breaching of one's ethics is often punished internally,
rather than externally yet society can challenge an individual with the
denial of association or the fruits of one labor.
