The first year of college; a flurry of overwhelming and unfamiliar responsibilities coupled with the first true experiences of higher education and self-exploration. There is much to say in the way of providing advice for soon-to-be college freshmen, but perhaps a summary into specific categories can help to distinguish best - the absolutely imperative necessities of writing. Grammar and punctuation are, of course the foundations for a good beginning, but there exists a parallel of importance with the ability to capture ones own self-expressive viewpoints; as the college years are typically a standard time to bloom the prose for the individuality and self-discovery not only as a student, but also as a prominently capable societal figure.
The college years, whether they stretch out to a mere two years or on into graduate school with lengths as long as 12 years, are suggestively opportunistic in the wake of the prime of one's mid-adulthood. We often hear that college is a time of experimentation, and though that is true, it is unfortunate that the majority of understanding or consideration for that fact imply these 'experimentation' tendencies are most generally categorized in the arenas of sexuality, drug-use or other taboo recreations. The truth however, is much more the elaborative extent of such behavioral examples. These are the times for experimenting with preferred approaches into deeper understanding, intense moral-fiber development, conducive building toward the areas of greater interest, political sovereignty commitment building, and overall; the perfect opportunity to discover the inner workings of societies and cultural frameworks.
