Cruise Lines and Choosing a Cruise Vacation

             When people want to take a really luxurious vacation they often take a cruise. Cruise lines have been serving society for many years with self contained Utopias as well as weathered some harsh realities regarding sick passengers, passengers disappearing and possible terrorist threats. Through it all the cruise lines redoubled their efforts to provide safe and fun filled adventures and seem to be faring much better than some of the nations airlines are doing. To the layman that has never been on a cruise they all look alike. It is a big ship, with lots of people waving and it goes out into the ocean and eventually returns but to the discerning eye each cruise line is as different as night and day. For one to be able to effectively choose the cruise of their choice it is important that they know the differences each company provides.
             Anyone that owns a television knows the Carnival Cruise Lines. Who could forget Kathy Lee Gifford's singing of the company praises a few years ago? More recently the company has pushed to remain in the minds of would be vacationers by touting all the things passengers do while off of the ship but still as part of the cruise. Whether it is shopping in a remote village, snorkeling with dolphins or parasailing at one of the ports of call, Carnival Cruise Lines promises to provide fun and adventure1.
             Financially it has remained one of the most successful and popular cruise lines on earth for several years. Their ships offer floating casinos for the adults and spiral waterslides to entertain the children.
             Few can deny the romantic ambiance of a midnight lobster feast and almost round the clock live entertainment on the cruise lines. In addition the ship provides Broadway caliber shows2.
             The cruise line has also had to fight some bad publicity when passengers became ill by the dozens and had to seek medical attention during one of the trips.
