The U.S. and our economy are running out of ways to pull us out of the recession, and once again experience a period of economic growth. If marijuana was to be legalized with regulation, we would take the money out of the filthy hands of the "underground market" and produce a new circulation of profit in our economy today.
There is an extremely large network of people selling and buying marijuana that will continue to market marijuana because there is a demand for it. This market will continue until marijuana is made legal. Yes, it will be a challenge, but the government will be able to take over the market and begin money flow from marijuana into our economy; no longer will profit from the sales of marijuana go to hands other than the government. The U.S. needs to step in and begin to make circulation of money flow within our economy, or else it is possible we will never be able to get out of our deficit which is currently 16,874,365,457,260 trillion dollars and growing by the minute (U.S. National Debt). If the government does not take action into depleting the national debt, the U.S. will eventually go into a depression. We are already in a substantial amount of debt with China, 1.164 trillion dollars as of June (Alessi). The Chinese are growing stronger by the minute. China could become a monopoly and virtually own everything, including the U.S.

It is seen through California, Colorado, and Michigan that we are modernizing and the marijuana use is being widely accepted, in fact, accepted enough to where there are places it is now legal to produce it, medically (Richitts 5). Many states are on board with the legalization as well. Medical Marijuana is legal in seventeen out of the fifty states in the U.S; including D...
