Beauty is often equated with physical appearance, but beauty can be perceived with the eyes and felt with the heart. It really is true, as they say, that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." We all have different opinions and standards for what constitutes beauty. We may all get a similar feeling when seeing beauty, but its definition is much different from person to person, and the source of those feelings can greatly differ from person to person. People may believe actors or actresses starring in major motion pictures represent beauty, while others may see little to no beauty in Hollywood, preferring, instead, scenic locations worldwide. Beauty can be how the sunset looks with its bright, beautiful colors or the sight of shiny stars in the sky on a summer night. How do blind people perceive beauty since they cannot physically see it? They sense beauty with their hearts.
             Beauty in nature often gives artists the motivation to paint the scenery. Experienced painters have a practiced eye that captures the beauty and sometimes even magnifies it. Some paintings may look like scribbles of paint on a canvas to the untrained eye, but to the trained eye, the same painting can be a magnificent masterpiece. The many fall colors have inspired painters and photographers to capture the beauty of nature: for example, snow on the first winter day, as it sits on top of every tree branch and housetop. Looking at nature's beauty can make a person feel like grabbing a cup of hot cocoa and curling up next to the fireplace while beautiful snowflakes fall from the sky.
             Objects can be considered beautiful as well. A shiny red Camaro sitting in the driveway looks beautiful to the person who just purchased it. A person would likely describe a new car with words such as, "She's a beauty!" My mother would find things at a thrift store and consider those objects beautiful. My father would say they are junk, but in my mom's eyes, they are beaut...
