"Time Re": A Review

             "Time Re" is an intriguing work by V. Goncharov, who collaborated with the composer Dusenbek Nakipov and the visual artist T. Yesaliyeva. The show is performed in Kazakh State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Abai. The whole composition consists of seven parts, which fit in 35 minutes. The main dancers are D. Tabyldy and A.Sapugova.
             The main zest of the performance is that there are no time frames at all. The whole action is happening in abstract space, where the concept of top or down does not exist. All dancers are the first men and women in the world, while D.Tabyldy and A. Sapugova are in role of Adam and Eve. This show represents the values of life in modern artwork.
             There is a glorious opening of the theatrical, as the spectators sitting in the total darkness during first several minutes and listening for a voice somewhere outside that is telling about the world's birth. After that, curtain opens and all performers start to dance together and impersonate the chaos of creation. The God created Earth in 6 days, and these six days are the first three episodes in the ballet. These episodes consist of dances, which show the creation of all living things and transformation of chaos.
             After the chaos there is a peace, dancers elevate Adam (D. Tabyldy) and Eve (A. Sapugova) to show that they are progenitors. The dance movements are very abstract and do not show something specific, moreover the main idea is that each viewer can interpret the meaning differently. In my understanding, the third part is about the life of Adam and Eve in Eden Garden. If in the first three episodes all dancers performed together, now Adam and Eve are in foreground, while others are in the back. The performance became more passionate. The dance is very sexual and shows the merger of two bodies. Dancers are enjoying each other. However, after the overindulgence of nature, there is a punishment, and Adam and Eve lost each othe...
