The Early Rise of Christianity

             The rise of Christianity was one of the major influences of western society. At the height of the stable and secure Empire of Rome came the emergence of the greatest philosophical development of western history. But like all other transcending moments in history, some obstacles and developments worked in its favor and against it.
             First, one of the most significant and fundamental strengths of Christianity was Jesus himself. Jesus was unique because he walked and talked. He was a human with a personality. No religion at the time could say that their God or gods were in a sense human-like. This allowed people to relate to Jesus and when people can relate to a person or a cause, it makes it even easier to raise support because this directly affects people at their core.
             Second, Jesus was a very demanding and strong person. The followers of Jesus were very strong-willed. These individuals were willing to do not only for Jesus but also for their cause. They were willing to help spread the word of Jesus under any circumstance. Because of the demanding personality of Jesus, his followers were also strong-willed and steadfast. This allowed Christianity to live on even after the death of Jesus because his followers took it upon themselves to spread Christianity because their strong principles dictated that this was the appropriate and Christian thing to do.
             Third, once Christianity started to spread the Christians started to form communities and support groups. This was all taking place within the Roman Empire at a time when many people of the lower and middle class were finding it rather difficult to relate to others in the Empire. Now here comes a religion or belief that allowed those people to have something in common. They could now meet and communicate with others who shared a common belief, and this led to groups of people starting to feel better about themselves because they now knew others who shared not only the same belief...
