It's about a man that tries to avoid a prediction that an oracle has made him. There have been few modern version of this piece of art created in a modern society. Oedipus was first performed in 429 BC with the plot of a dramatic tragedy. Greek theater was very different from what we call theater today. Since time change and the entertainment industry also change, a modern version of Oedipus can be very challenging. Adapting apiece as is Oedipus the King could very difficult for modern's producers and actors.

Now day's people do not believe in the supernatural as they did before. When the Greek civilization was watching a play the believed that what was happening in the play could actually happen in real life, so a play was a representation of real life for Greek society.
