One evening while the Crane family sat together cuddled up near the fire on a frigid winter night, they heard a knock at the door. As Mr. Crane exchanged looks with Mrs. Crane, James knew something was very wrong. Mr. Crane jumped up and crept slowly towards the wooden door.
