As the Human Resources Development Manager for FORD motor company's USA branch, I have identified potential difficulties with the company moving forward. These difficulties are as a direct result of the downturn in financial stability coupled with the ever increasing cost of fuel. To tackle these problems and keep our branch of Ford retaining maximum level of profit I intend to introduce a pay for performance incentive awards program. After conducting a needs assessment of our organisation it is clear that we need to address any poor production performance of our employees to tackle the current financial climate we find ourselves in.
The ways I identified the need to implement this training is by collecting performance data over a 6 month period, and assess these numbers directly alongside the operating costs of the organisation. Once I had this data, I compared our performance directly to rival companies and also companies who are currently running a pay for performance incentive awards program. I found that if we implemented our own, we could stand to see a huge step forward in our financial stability which in turn could allow us to stake a claim for a larger market share by investing the money we have saved in other areas of the business. Training will be compulsory for all employees of FORD motor company, I intend to introduce the pay for performance incentive awards program, to all positions not just the lower level employees in the factories, even the managers will be assessed on a performance scale and this will affect for example their end of year bonus. Furthermore every employee will be subject to an end of year assessment of their performance, and as a result of this their base salary for the next year will be reduced/increased.
