Time...it means so much but yet it sounds so small. The view of time to many is how long it takes to do something or how long it's been since you've been with someone. But how important is time in your day to day world? The actual definition of time is, "Plan, schedule, or arrange when (something) should happen or be done" (Houghton, 1997). However, in many different cultures the perception of time can vary and causing many who aren't used to it extremely confused. "It's believed that westerners tend to define punctuality using precise measures of time in other cultures, time can be measure by significantly longer intervals" (Levy, 2013).
Time and punctuality is especially different between The United States and Brazil. Being born in Brazil I can relate to the idea that time is perceived differently in both countries.

In contrast, the conception of time that prevails in United States society emphasizes the immediacy of accomplishment and the urgency of using time efficiently: making every minute count. These fundamental differences in meaning that underlie the utilization of time often pose as great an obstacle to communication as language differences" (Levine, 1980).
The idea that whatever has to be done can wait for tomorrow if it's not extremely important is always the case for Brazil. As a young kid growing up in Brazil I learned to be "lazy" in terms of having to get something done. Yes your parents are always on your back but it's less likely in Brazil for your parents to tell you it has to be done now.
