Theme in Mending Wall

In the poem "Mending Wall,"" the author Robert Frost conveys the theme of "good fences make good neighborsâ€" through some of the statements in his work.
The poem shows that even though fences are not natural, men need fences to live happy lives. The poem states, "Something there is that doesn't love a wall, that sends the frozen-ground-swell under it, and spills the upper boulders in the sun."" This statement demonstrates how unnatural walls are because the boulders that make up the wall keep getting knocked down. Even if the wall is not really necessary, it gives a sense of security to the neighbors. Because of the wall, the neighbors know that they will not trespass and bother each other. The speaker says "Before I built a wall I'd ask to know what I was walling in or walling out."" Even though the speaker finds no apparent reason for building the wall, he still does it. The neighbors build the wall to have a larger sense of privacy.
Even if the wall is helpful in the relationship of the neighbors, it is still unwanted by nature. The speaker says "The gaps I mean, no one has seen them made or heard them made, but at spring mending-time we find them there."" It is understood that it is unknown to the speaker who or ...
