Every school deals with different issues. One is facing school violence, another substance abuse, then some schools have a high rate of teen pregnancy, and others school dropout. Some feel they are dealing with all of these problems! Students may smoke, drink, or even do drugs because of peer pressure. Bullying happens in all schools. Some schools actually have student lead prayers.
             Teens today do drugs, drink, and smoke to get away from problems. No teen thinks that they can get addicted to anything. Teens think that they are invincible and they are always right. Teens get pressured into trying different things because they think that it is cool. Most will give in so as not to seem as an "outcast". To fit in teens will do things that they are against.
             Bullying is another issue in schools. Children need attention and if parents don't give them that attention they will get in trouble to get noticed. When watching violent television shows kids think it is okay to do what they see. Hitting, slapping, or spanking children as punishment shows them that it is okay to hit others to solve problems.
             Teen pregnancy and just not wanting to attend school could lead to dropping out. Teens think that they don't need school or that it is just a waste of time. If they do not go then they will not make anything of themselves. Teen pregnancy is on the rise. Every school should state the facts of these issues.
             Many believe that prayer in school helps with today's issues.
             Although schools have increased their protection measures, such as installing metal detectors, hiring guards, searching lockers, and instituting other police like procedures like the Zero Tolerance Policy, unfortunately these have not resulted in any long term solution on violence among children.
