As mankind has evolved throughout history, so have its personality. Humans are to have said that man is made of every aspect possible, however some elements overshadow others. From mean to kind to curiosity, humans are created from all types of traits. In this book, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, mankind is on a pathway to destruction.
Jack demonstrates pure evil throughout society. He has a bold mean streak in him that gets worse and worse throughout the novel, going from plain hurting people into blood-lust. He is a cruel bully, who is continuously making violent jesters and threatens to those that are below him is the society triangle. He is known more as the high class, while the others are known as the common people. Jack is recognized to be a fighter; he will never give up even when times get rough. He cannot bare the fact of loosing. Throughout this novel he is known as the antagonist because he takes pleasure in the pain of others. On page 49, of chapter 3, it says, "...he raised his spear and sneaked forward. Beyond the creeper, the trail joined a pig-run that was wide enough and trodden enough to be a path. The ground was hardened by an accustomed tread and as Jack rose to his full height he heard something moving on it. He swung back his right arm and hurled the spear with all his strength. From the pig-run came the quick, hard patter of hoofs, a castanet sound, seductive, maddening – the promise of meat." This tells us readers that Jack likes hunting, and killing for pure enjoyment. Therefore Jack reveals that the human natures of people are deadly.
Piggy demonstrates that everyone is a little bit bossy, even if they are unaware of it. He is known to be quite scientific and skeptical. Although he does not have the dashing good looks as Ralph does, he has a powerful and intellectual mind.
