Education has the ability to train a mind to be successful. Success can be measured in a variety of forms but none the less education gets you there. John Taylor Gatto writes in "The Seven-Lesson Schoolteacher," that through a series of his steps a child will be motivated for a successful life. He describes seven steps in teaching children so that they will be able to benefit from the ways they are taught. One stating that curiosity is needed to enable alertness for learning(.) "Confusion is thrust upon kids by too many strange adults, each working alone with only the thinnest relationship with each other, pretending for the most part to expertise they do not possess" (Gatto 174).
