Introduction
The present report provides an analytical insight of the qualitative interviews conducted by Segue Net Solutions on travel risk perceptions of travelers, emphasizing the benefits of travel insurance. The travel and tourism industry has flourished significantly over the years and has become one of the most lucrative and revenue generating sectors for a number of countries[ CITATION Gar13 l 1033 ]. Though true, the industry is subjected to a number of obstacles due to the local and international tensions pertaining the particular country or region. These tensions and risks often negatively influence the decision making process of the travelers, where they tend to avoid travelling to places with high perceived risks[ CITATION Gar13 l 1033 ]. Travelers' perceptions of risks can be from their past experience, anecdotes of other travelers, or simply what they read and see on different media channels[CITATION Per11 l 1033 ]. Thus, by going into a qualitative analysis, the researcher will be able to better understand the measure perceived risks by travelers, how they consider its intensity, and whether their risk perception leads to more secure travelling habits like getting a travel insurance. A thematic analysis of the 17 interviews using the NVivo-11 software is presented in the paper, with graphical illustrations showing how reactive different travellers are to different risks and how they make their travel destination decision based on the perceived level of risk involved.
Major Traveling Risks
The participants were first asked about their concerns regarding travelling and then it was further narrowed down to risks when travelling to a foreign country.
