As most people, I have been asking myself a question, what do I want out of life? This question bothers many people, and not only the college students, but also the working class as well. Everyone wants to lead a comfortable life; however only a few want to travel the path to reach or attain their personal "pots of gold." One might ask, what is that comfort that we all are striving for? Is it a state of mind or is it some unknown world that we are so eager to enter. It varies from person to person; there are several aspects, such as the way we were raised, income, and availability. All of which influence us and the future decisions in which we make.
The biggest part of our decision-making is the way we were raised and the cultures in which we have gotten used to living in. Many Americans believe that success depends on one's family background and the size of their family's portfolio. There are those who say that if the person was raised in a rich family, all opportunities are available to them and there is a high chance that this person will live a comfortable life. The same people say that if the person was raised in a poor family there are too many obstacles to overcome and most of the time these barriers are too hard to cross. On the other hand, there are those people who say that America is the land of opportunity and any person (regardless of race, creed or religion) could achieve their goals if they set their minds to it. Then you have the Rich versus the poor. There are the Trump and the Hilton families. Both are very wealthy families that never have to worry about the basic needs like food, shelter or security, and their resources were provided thanks to the excessive amount of money they possess. They have everything. The best designer clothes, the best schools, prime real estate, the best jobs, etc.
