Life

             In everybody's lives they try to find what their purpose in life is. They try to seek on their own what their life may bring. For every person there is a specific task to be fulfilled. However, that task is not easy to find. Finding the meaning of life in every person is such a difficult task, especially when we let fate control our lives. Therefore, we must not let fate control us, but we must try very hard to find our objectives in our lives. And in order to find meaning in our lives, we must take control of our own existence and stop letting "fate" control us.
             Paulo Coehlo's book "The Alchemist" talks about how a young boy finds his "Personal Legend". He uses the boy to connect with the readers and tell us not to evade their dreams. Instead we must pursue our dreams. He also states that when one finds his "Personal Legend", he will be able to find "God", meaning of happiness and contentment. However, he also states that there is "...a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That's the world's greatest lie" (20). In my opinion, this phrase means that sometimes we let ourselves be controlled by others and that we don't give ourselves a chance to see what we can offer to the world. In a certain point in our lives we tend to give up easily because we are afraid of failure and are afraid of what other people might say. And by doing so, we try to "fit in" in order to please other people and not to please ourselves. Fate on the other hand, comes along with it because when one is faced to do something and has no choice, he is then forced to do it and that is when our life is being controlled by fate.
