A and P

             John Updike's A&P is a story of a young teenager who makes some bad decisions at his job A&P. These bad decisions were influential by a crush for a girl. This made the teenage boy not think logically but emotionally. I will inform you of the bad decision the teenager makes at his job.
             First of all, he chose to focus almost completely to the girls as they walked through the doors of A&P. Watching the girls resulted in him ringing up the customer's crackers twice. The customer notice and became upset with the teenager as he corrected the error. Obviously, the girls were distracting enough to him make mistakes at his job. The manager could have been informed and have written the boy up for not paying attention.
             Secondly, the manager pursues the girls due to them wearing there bathing suites inside the store. And informs the girls that there store prohibits just wearing bathing suites. When the manger was discussing store policy with the girls, he noticed the teenage boy was smiling about the situation. The manager made sure that the teenage boy knew he was not happy about the fact of him smiling about the conflict. The boy made another dumb decision by making facial gestures when the manager is discussing an issue.
             Finally, the boy tells the manager that he quits and takes off his robe. The boy informs the manager that it is due to him being rude to the girls. The manager know his family well and tells the boy that he wouldn't want to do this to them. The boy pursues out the door anyways to find his damsel in distress outside. But she had already left the store. Regretfully, the boy looks back in the store realizing he accomplished nothing but disappointment and undependability.
             In conclusion, the boy made some foolish mistakes all for a girl which he never got. He made mistakes checking out customer and smiling as the manager was discussing the issue with the girls. And on top of that, he decides to just go
