Humanity and the Meaning of Life

             Every human institution has a guiding mission statement or philosophy. Yet there is no specific global plan for humanity's future. Without a plan, coincidence determines the destination. Instead of leaving its fate up to chance, humanity should select its own destination. To succeed in achieving such a diligent task, one must formulate a personal meaning of life and what can be done to strive toward it.
             Personally, the meaning of my life (which is possibly shared) is in the footsteps of a utopian society. Holding true to the reality that not all share this goal, one can only put together an open mind and heart to jump into a progression of personal perfection. This ultimate philosophy of striving for the best life possible for everyone can be one global element of common sense and common purpose in an otherwise complex and fragmented world. Everyone makes a vote as to the type of world we have with their lifetime efforts, and the total of all human actions determines whether the world is like a heaven on earth or a living hell. Individually and collectively we must shine the light of knowledge on the darkness of ignorance until we find our best. If we take such a path, at some point in the future, humanity will have a heaven on earth, where everyone lives as they desire.
             Humanity must continually support and encourage the pursuit of knowledge which can provide humanity the technological ability to live a physically and emotionally safe and fulfilling life. The most daunting frontier we face is the frontier of ignorance which must continually be conquered through research and expansion. By expansion, meaning one should strive to increase knowledge and encouragement to pursue the path of knowledge so that both the individual and society as a whole reap the rewards that knowledge can bestow.
