Is There a God

             In understanding and explaining philosophy, there will be many views and contradictions. In these past three weeks many questions have been asked upon us in class, that requires great thought and explanation. We have been asked to look inside ourselves and break down these questions from our own experiences.
             One of the first questions presented to us was, "Is there a God?" This raised several points of views. Most students believed there was a God because that was what they were told by family or other member of their community. I honestly can't say is there or not, but I will state my position. My mother and other members of my family preach the word of God constantly in my home. I tend to have some conflict with the whole creation story, as it has been told time and time again. I just don't get the concept of one person creating everything. What made him create people, the stars, moon and earth? And if he did create everything, who created him? Where did he live? People often get caught up in the spiritual aspect, and do not analyze the scientific. I find it to be most surprising that someone will just appear out the blue, with no origin or nothing and create the present world, as we know it.
             I've had several discussions with teachers, classmates, and friends. My point of view expresses that, most people believe in a higher being because it gives them faith. Having something or someone to believe in makes people feel good. It gives people that release from the outside world, rids them of all their pain and sorrow. How many times do we hear people calling for the praises of God at there worst time? But how often do we hear people thanking God when they are out clubbing and drinking all night long.
             In Theodicy, a division of philosophy, the idea of humans talking to God comes to the surface. I get a little confused
