My Broken Ankle

             A person really can't appreciate the small things in life until you have it all taken away from you. I know this from many experiences. One of the longest times in my life was when I broke my ankle. The actual breaking of my ankle and the recovery time was the long and painful part, but I did learn a few valuable life lessons to work with.
             The story of how I broke my ankle is kind of pitiful. I wish it could have been something a little more interesting. But since all of my friends and I have a tight budget, we had to go out and look for some fun. We ended up at a playground at about one o'clock in the morning. One of my best friends said something to piss me off so I started chasseing after him. Well since it was dark and I couldn't see anything, I fell into a concrete ditch. It felt like I just twisted it. So I played it off like I was ok. I have never liked being a burden to people so I just went on like usual. The next days were the most frustrating days of my life. I tried multiple times to get up and walk around to prove to my mom that I could go to work. It didn't seem to work. My mom didn't believe me that I thought I actually broke my ankle. Neither did my friends or in fact anyone I know. They all thought I just pulled a muscle and that I was a wimp and over exagrating. I finally got my grandma to believe me that I had broken my ankle. So we got some metal crutches they were extremely painful and took me to that hospital. We had to walk (or crutch) around the whole hospital due to construction. When we were talking to the doctor he said I only bruised my bone during the actual accident. But since I tried to walk around on it, which is when it actually broke. I felt so bad. From there on I would be mostly dependent on other people. This drove me crazy. I had to call in work and tell them the whole story.
